I would not even consider farming until you are:

1. A lvl 20
2. Completed the game, all of them if you have them
3. Have all the attribute points
4. Have all secondary profession unlocked
5. Have lots of skill unlocked
6. Visit the Campfire forum on this site or PVX http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
7. Know why you are farming, ie.. money, materials, greens, golds, tomes, etc
(no sense in farming unless you know what you need or want)

Just play through the game for now. You can worry about farming later, trust me it gets boring. Have fun and play while the game is still new to you.

PS. Rangers are horrible farmers. When you do get ready to start farming then I would make a monk, ele, or assassin for farming.

Farming is running around killing the same thing(s) over and over in the same area, in many cases, all by yourself - no other people and no henchmen. As a level 6 with crappy armor, probably crappy weapons, and very few skills, you aren't going to have any success at it.

The FIRST thing you need to do to begin farming is get to level 20! The best way to do that is get back to Ascalon City and start questing. Also, get working on the story line missions & stuff. After that, finish playing through the story line, Get every skill quest you can find and do them! There are also a couple of +15 Attribute point quests that are a must for high-level game playing. And then there's getting max armor, setting it up with runes & insignias, and getting decent weapon sets. THEN, do some research and find out the different farm areas & the builds used to farm them.

You also won't be able to farm in the Elite areas -Fissure of Woe & Underworld without ascending - which you're no where close to beign able to do.

Bottom line is this: SLOW DOWN! The loot & $$$ will come, and there are ways you can make pretty good money selling stuff that drops in the low level areas - Charr carvings, for example, are worth quite a bit more than 3g. (Look 'em up on the wiki to find out why!)

This is it, pretty much. Look - slow down, do some quests: in Prophecies there are quests which give you skills as a reward - comes in handy when you're doing it for the first time and don't have much cash to buy skills with. Considering you're level 6, you probably skipped past most of them. Go back and quest a bit more - you'll get xp, gold, maybe equipment you can use, etc to help you get through the game.

Depends on what weapon you are using and the skills on your bar. Assuming, since you are a relatively low lvl ranger, you are using a bow and only have bow attack skills on your bar, that would be the Marksmanship attribute.

And yes, go back and play the game. At lvl 6, there's not a whole lot to do at/around LA and no one will want to party with you. Go back and progress through the game as you were meant to. The early missions/quests are actually rather fun you first few times through.

lol you don't need all the secondary professions unlocked to farm. that's wasteful. lets unlock them all, ignoring that I can only be 2 professions at once. I only unlock what is necessary to farm with.'

ANYWAYS, start IDing EVERYTHING (yes, whites too). I swear it adds up over time and gives you a nice chunk of gold. That and checking all runes and inscriptions to make sure you don't sell anything for too cheap.

I farm the wurms outside boreal station quite fast, can take two of them once they pop up before they go down again.

Found lots of elite tomes, tomes, golds..

I read they can even farm in the underworld or something (trapper)

Farming is boring, but I think the OP just wanted to know what it is, and now that he knows he should know that he needs to go back and play the game first.

That being said, solo farming is very doable on a ranger, just go check out the Youtube videos. There's a couple showing rangers soloing FoW (Fissure of Woe, and Siimshady, you are no where NEAR ready to do it so don't ask or look it up on Wiki). Also a 3 man trapping team can wipe out the *entire* Underworld in HM. I do it on a regular basis and there are people with rangers who solo it.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. But is a little sad is how much Siimshady is missing. Dude, check out this nice beginners guide that I used when I first started playing, it's super easy to read and follow: http://guides.gamepressure.com/guild...uide.asp?ID=75

Along the left you'll see links for all the areas. So good luck and for the God Gamer's sake just PLAY the game be patient and all your questions will be answered.
